Creative Summer at The Mead School is not your average summer camp! Centered around the visual, performing and expressive arts, the emphasis of this four-week program is on creativity and the creative process, on children as artists working with artists.
The Mead School is extremely proud to be celebrating the 29th year of its multi-arts summer program for young people ages 6 1/2 to 16. Staffed by professional artists, educators, and performers, the emphasis in this four-week program is on creativity and the creative process, on children as artists working with artists. The Mead School, located at 1095 Riverbank Road in North Stamford, provides a perfect summer setting for exploring all aspects of the arts.
The atmosphere is energetic and committed to supporting the work of artists of all ages. Each summer has a specific theme. Under the guidance and teaching of our professional artists, students pursue a schedule of courses of their choosing that supports the theme.
Our vast array of courses may include drawing, painting, graphic design, musical theater, rock band, voice, fantasy art, portraiture, movie making, video news, animation, dance, puppetry, theater games, improv comedy, scene study, Dungeons & Dragons, fantasy role play, creative writing, ...and more. At the end of the four weeks there is an Arts Festival at which students, parents and friends come together to celebrate the creative work of the summer.
